After realizing we had an ample amount of sawdust and woodchips leftover from production, we worked with engineers to find a way to transform these materials into something tangible, rather than having them go to waste. The final result was named PlanWood.PlanWood is created from rubberwood sawdust, organic pigments, and non-formaldehyde glue (E-Zero). The mixture is compressed in heated molds to form a solid shape. With PlanWood, we have more flexibility with the types of wooden shapes we can make, from giraffes to boats.
